How to Use Leads Responsibly

Guidelines for LeadSignals subscribers — part of our Terms of Service.

DO

Send professional mail or email.
Introduce yourself honestly — say "I noticed you're planning a project" and explain how you can help.
Respect a "no" immediately, and stop contacting anyone who asks you to stop.
Keep your outreach truthful about who you are and what you offer.

DON'T

Don't claim a homeowner requested you unless the lead is marked 'Posted by Homeowner.'
Don't show up uninvited at a homeowner's door.
Don't harass, pressure, or repeatedly contact someone who hasn't responded.
Don't spam, buy lists from LeadSignals data, or resell lead information.

Choosing a Pro

Homeowners choose who they want to work with. Browse pros in your area and pick whoever you decide to go with. We recommend checking references and meeting in person before hiring.

CASL and PIPEDA

CASL (Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation) requires consent before you send commercial electronic messages, and requires you to identify yourself and offer a working unsubscribe. PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) requires you to use personal information only for the purpose it was collected, and to protect it. You are responsible for complying with CASL, PIPEDA, and your local solicitation bylaws when you use LeadSignals leads.
